The Center for Disease Control (CDC} the Illinois Supreme Court, Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH} have set forth certain recommendations and/or orders regarding social distancing and masking. The CDC has offered flexibility in the workplace context for continuing social distancing and/or masking. After consultation with the DeKalb County Health Department, the DeKalb County Administrator and the DeKalb County Sheriff it has been determined that the best practice is to continue to require social distancing and masking in public areas and courtrooms in the DeKalb County Courthouse.
As the courthouse continues to reopen and we have more individuals on the premises and inside various courtrooms and offices, the best workplace guidance is to continue with masking and social distancing.
As more objective/scientific data becomes available this policy may change. Until then, masking and social distancing will continue to be mandated in the public areas and courtrooms of the DeKalb County Courthouse.
