We are looking forward to September 25, 2022! The DeKalb Corn Classic Race is a Running race in DeKalb, Illinois consisting of a 10K and 5K.
Beginning and ending in Downtown DeKalb, the route will take runners through historical neighborhoods, along the Kishwaukee River via Prairie Park, through NIU’s campus and Huskie Stadium and ending in Van Buer Plaza with a Post Race Celebration! On Course Entertainment includes the Huskie Marching Band, NIU Jazz Band and Steelband!
Our USATF Certified 10 km course winds through the southwesterly residential areas and parks of the City of DeKalb. The course entails several short hills yet overall is considered flat and fast.
For those that prefer to run with us virtually or would like to run with us anywhere around the world, we will also be offering a virtual 10K & 5K.
Parking is available on Barb Boulevard in the school parking lot and adjoining field to the West. Parking is NOT permitted at nearby businesses or on any private property. Parking control provided on location.
Baby joggers, strollers, bikes, skates, or pets are not allowed in the 10 km race.
This race is a CARA CERTIFIED RACE. It has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.
