The DeKalb Chamber has a new address and is excited to show off their new home. Last week the Chamber staff spent three days boxing and packing for the move as well as unpacking and settling in at the new offices. Located on the second floor of the ‘First Midwest Bank’, the new Chamber office is still in the downtown area and open for business.
“Packing up brochures and advertising materials was a challenge, but the new welcome area gave us space to promote our members,” commented Rosalie Williams, Administrative Assistant for the DeKalb Chamber. “I will miss the quaintness of the old Bank Building, but this space is very inviting,” said Williams.
Anna Coates, the Chamber Membership Manager, likes the modern furniture but lamented that the bigger the desk the more stacks she can create. “It is nice having our own offices,” said Coates.

Marketing & Events Manager Virginia Filicetti likes the professional office space environment. “Unpacking and finding everything is secondary to having an office with a view of the downtown area,” said Filicetti. There will be little rest for Filicetti as winter events are filling the Chamber Calendar.

Executive Director Matt Duffy had little time to talk as he explained catching up with the work that was lost with the three-day move and getting ready to open on Monday. “Everyone was involved with the move and it went relatively smooth,” said Duffy. “We are trying to cram a week’s worth of work into two days as the staff (Anna Coates and Virginia Filicetti) and I will be heading to Champaign on Wednesday for the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce Conference.”

The State Chamber Conference is a working event with seminars and workshops, along with networking with other state Chamber offices.
At the State level, DeKalb Chamber’s Executive Director Matt Duffy is the current Treasurer and will be moving into a new role as 1st Vice-Chair of the State Chamber organization.
