A lawsuit has been filed by local DeKalb, Malta, and Sycamore restaurant and bar owners against Governor JB Pritzker regarding his recent declaration of closing Area 8 bars and restaurants.
Plaintiffs include Fatty’s Pub and Grill, The Lincoln Inn, Farandas, The Junction, Elwood Steakhouse, Jimador in DeKalb, MVPs in Sycamore, and Remington’s in Malta.
The lawsuit seeks an injunction against the governors unconstitutional executive order that is intent in closing area restaurants and bars which will cause major financial damage.
Another group of restaurant and bar owners in the Rockford area will be making a similar lawsuit. State Senator Dave Severson stated he will encourage Winnebago owners to not close.
