So I got an email from Amazon. If I want I can become an Amazon Affiliate again. Insert some code and start selling products right from the websites we publish. Like this one.
My experience with Amazon was for self education to learn about affiliate marketing for clients that wanted to employ that strategy. Amazon was one of many affiliate marketing programs I participated in. They were one of two that actually sent me a check. Read the fine print on affiliate marketing. Checks don’t come easily.
Anyways to the email:
We’re pleased to announce that the Amazon Associates program is again open to residents of the State of Illinois. We’re now able to re-open the program because the Illinois State Supreme Court recently struck down legislation that had forced Amazon to close the program to residents of Illinois. Amazon strongly supports federal legislation like the Marketplace Fairness Act that’s now pending before Congress, which is the only constitutional way to resolve interstate sales tax collection issues.
Residents of Illinois who would like to participate in the Amazon Associates program can submit an application here:

Thanks for your past participation in the Amazon Associates program. We hope to see you again soon.
No thanks, Amazon. DeKalb County Online is an independent locally owned and operated online newspaper. We do business with our friends and neighbors. Local merchants. Local service providers. That’s how we can keep our money, taxes and jobs here at home.
Best of luck with that drone delivery thing. I hear but it’s unconfirmed that Walmart is installing anti-drone defensive systems on their roofs.
