Valentine season is the perfect time for dads and daughters to dance the night away on Saturday, February 20, in the Terrace Room, located within the Hopkins Park Community Center at 1403 Sycamore Road.
Join staff for a special ‘Socially Distant, Together Forever’ themed event with dessert, dancing, guessing games, and photographs. Each daughter will also receive a flower and a special memento to take home. This event is not exclusive to dads, but girls ages 3-17 have the option to bring a special hero or male role model to the dance.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the theme this year is fitting, reminding families that although we have been physically distant from one another, we are always stronger together. This event celebrates the special bond between a father/hero and daughter!
All participants must remember to physically distance 6 feet or more from other households, always wear a face-covering, and dance with members from the same household only. In support of gathering restrictions, participants may choose from two 90-minute timeslots, either at 5:30-7:00 pm or 7:30-9 pm. This will allow staff to disinfect the venue between groups. If DeKalb County, as part of Region 1 in the Restore Illinois Plan, returns to Tier 1-3 mitigation restrictions, this event will be canceled, and refunds will be issued.
The fee is $20 per resident couple, and $24 per non-resident couple, with a $10 fee for additional daughters. Phase 4 capacity restrictions ensure this event will sell out, so reserve your spot soon.
