Have you ever wondered what doing yoga feels like? Thought about channeling your inner Chuck Norris through a Total Gym workout? Considered the tranquility that guided meditation might bring to a stressful week?
From August 18-23, 2014, Creative Therapeutics is offering its regular classes free of charge. “It’s a way to say ‘thank you’ to our regular students, and also an invitation to those who might be curious to try something new,” says owner Mark Mattson. “We believe we have something to offer every age and fitness level.”
Students can pick from a wide range of classes, including a variety of yoga classes, Total Gym Gravity, guided meditation, or Becky’s Boot Camp. While most classes are geared toward beginners, they are adaptable to meet advanced fitness goals. Students develop at their own pace.
Mattson believes that with health care in such a state of flux, classes at Creative Therapeutics offer outstanding value. Because these classes are either taught by—or in consultation with—physical therapists, students have regular access to professionals who are experts in movement. “It’s a great opportunity to ask about that shoulder or knee giving you trouble.”
More and more, doctors are looking to activities like meditation and yoga as therapies for conditions such as hypertension, balance disorders, and chronic pain. “Creative Therapeutics was founded 17 years ago with a simple vision,” Mattson explains. “We listen to you. We look at your whole health, your whole body. We want to help you to get better, but once you do, we want to give you the tools to thrive. That’s what our classes are all about.”
Walk-ins are welcome, but please call to reserve a spot for Total Gym Gravity classes. Creative Therapeutics is located at 400 E. Hillcrest Dr. in DeKalb. Call 815-758-5508 or check the website for schedule: wholept.com. Follow them on Facebook too!
