Somonuak Road Closure -The DeKalb County Engineer has announced that Somonauk Road, one half mile south of Chicago Road in Sandwich and Somonauk Townships is tentatively scheduled to be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, June 12th for the replacement of the bridge over Somonauk Creek. This closure is scheduled to remain until September 1, 2017. Martin & Company Excavating from Oregon, Illinois will be the Contractor for this $608,916.78 project. The DeKalb County Engineer has announced that the Union Pacific Railroad will have Airport Road in Cortland Road District, closed to through traffic at the railroad crossing June 23, 2017; Somonauk Road in the Town of Cortland closed to through traffic at the railroad crossing on June 25, 2017; and Loves Road in the Town of Cortland closed to through traffic – all between 6:30am to 6:00pm on the dates indicated, for maintenance. Hey can u fix. Twombley rd, south 1st st, Taylor st, 7th st, 4th st etc etc etc……
Before starting these will the state shutdown affect these if it comes to pass? They have said all road construction will stop.
These are County projects, not State.
