DeKalb County Deputies were preparing inmates to be shipped to another county for housing due to jail overcrowding at 2:30pm on Tuesday, 2/21/17. Inmate Levon Ozier, D.O.B. 4/3/94 from DeKalb, was refusing to be transported. To impede deputies from transporting him, Ozier removed all of his clothes and covered himself with soapy water. He stated that he would stab the first person to enter his cell.
When deputies entered his cell he swung several times with a pen. He did make contact to the abdomen of a deputy. The deputy had on a body armor vest which prohibited the deputy from being injured. The deputy used his taser to gain control and subdue Ozier. Charges of Aggravated Battery were filed.
