Join the DeKalb County Convention & Visitors Bureau to celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week (May 7-13) with “Let’s Talk Tourism” a presentation and Q & A with Cory Jobe, Director, Illinois Office of Tourism (IOT) on Thursday, May 11th from 10-11 am at the Egyptian Theatre (135 N. Second Street, DeKalb, IL).
Director Jobe will be talking about the new ad campaigns IOT just launched, the Illinois Made program, the economic impact of tourism on local economies and the state, and other related topics. The DeKalb County Board’s Proclamation declaring May 7-13, 2017 as National Travel and Tourism Week in DeKalb County will also be read.

The DCCVB has also launched a Photo Submission contest as part of National Travel & Tourism Week. The contest is open to professional and amateur photographers, businesses and attractions to share photos of DeKalb County as seen through their lens. The possibility exists that one of the submitted photos may be featured on the cover of the 2018 DeKalb County Visitors Guide or in our other DCCVB marketing campaigns. If one of the submitted photos is selected as the cover of our guide, the photographer will receive a $50 gift certificate to one of our local businesses and a photo credit.
