According to local media sources, the citizens of Cortland have selected Mark Pietrowski Jr. as their new Mayor. Mark Pietrowski Jr. said he’s feeling good about having 53% of the popular vote, with official results announced on April 20.
Cortland mayor-elect has sets goals for his first 100 days in office. A projected 100-day plan is generally reserved for elected officials at the national and state level, but Pietrowski wants Cortland to be recognized as a player in local politics. Mark Pietrowski Jr. is a former officer of the DeKalb Democratic Party, as well as a Democratic member at the county board level.
‘I don’t want to see everything go to DeKalb and Sycamore,’ commented Pietrowski. His other comments did not reflect on the concerns of local Cortland residences.
Pietrowski is also employed at Northern Illinois University.
