Notice of a 30-Day Public Comment Period, Public Hearing and Availability of
2018 Proposed Annual Action Plan – One Year Use of Funds under
the Community Development Block Grant Program
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federally funded program
intended to increase housing, community and economic opportunities for low and
moderate-income residents of the City of DeKalb.
The City is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to
submit a Consolidated Plan every five years plus an annual One Year Action Plan which
describes community needs, resources, priorities and proposed activities to be
undertaken under CDBG. The City will receive an estimated $400,000 in CDBG funds
for Program Year 2018 (April 1, 2018- March 31, 2019).
The Draft Annual Action Plan for 2018 is available on the City’s website at
www.cityofdekalb.com and in hard copy at the City Clerk’s Office, DeKalb Municipal
Building, 200 South Fourth Street and the DeKalb Public Library at 309 Oak Street
beginning March 24, 2018.
The 2018 Proposed Annual Action Plan is subject to consideration and public input by
City Council and members of the community. All interested citizens are invited to submit
written comments during the 30-day review period beginning March 24, 2018, until April
23, 2018.
Citizens are also invited to attend and provide input on the 2018 Proposed Annual Action
Plan at a Public Hearing to be held on April 23, 2018, at the regular meeting of City
Council. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 200 South Fourth Street.
