Starting November 1, 2017, the DeKalb Police Department will offer a discount on
outstanding parking fines. From November 1 through November 30, vehicle owners who
have outstanding parking tickets issued between 2013 and 2016 have the opportunity to
receive a $25 discount per ticket. This initiative by the DeKalb Police Department is an effort to recoup a significant amount of fees owed to the City. Snow Emergency Route and
Handicap Zone parking tickets are excluded from the discount. Individuals with ten or more
tickets are also excluded from the amnesty program. Refunds will not be given for any late
fee and collection fees paid prior to the start of the program.
Parking Tickets can be paid:
- In person Monday through Friday at the DeKalb Police Department, 700 W Lincoln
Highway, between 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. or at City Hall, 200 S 4th Street,
between 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. - By check and through the mail to the DeKalb Police Department, 700 W Lincoln
Highway.
Owners with outstanding parking tickets have received a mailed notice. If you are unsure if
you have outstanding parking tickets, please call the DeKalb Police Record’s Division at 815-748-8400. Staff will need the owner(s) names and license plate to conduct an effective
search.
Following the amnesty program, any outstanding balances from tickets issued prior to 2016
will be sent to collections for the full fine amount. Further information and payment options
can be found at https://www.cityofdekalb.com/1098/Parking-Amnesty.
