The Greater Area Kirkland Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Christmas in Kirkland at the Alpine Bank from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10th, 2011. Santa will be at the bank to visit with children, parents, and grandchildren. Faith World Outreach Church will put on its annual puppet shows dealing with the “Birth of Christ” as well as hold a live nativity scene down the street from the bank. Free horse drawn wagon rides will be available for all members of the family. Holiday refreshments will be available at the bank and the live nativity scene.
Homes throughout the Village of Kirkland have entered to win the holiday decorations contest. Houses will be judged on December 6th, 7th, & 8th with prizes awarded at 10 AM at the bank on December 10th. Elementary children in the Hiawatha School District will also be recognized for their winning art work and written essays at 10am.
