Further explanation if necessary: Sycamore Township does not operate at deficiency
Q3: What services would you seek to enhance or expand during your term?
Educating the taxpayers on what the township does and getting input from the people to meet their needs. If the township is structured to fix, repair or address a certain issue, I feel a working relationship between both parties is important.
Q4: What services would you cut or reduce to balance the budget?
I think that a new perspective is needed to look at how the money is spent currently and recommend changes where needed. I personally do not think we should cut money from our roads at this time. This is the primary responsibility of the township. Risking unsafe road conditions is not a way to save taxpayer money. I believe that other areas of the budget can be re-evaluated.
Q5: What makes you uniquely qualified for the position you are seeking?
As a business owner, I understand that every dollar must be spent wisely to succeed. I would use the same approach with the township.
Q6: What does open, transparent government mean to you?
Listening and meeting with people to hear what they have to say. Then a conversation needs to happen with facts and numbers to achieve satisfaction if possible. Also, I would like to see more information between the township and public conveyed through internet channels via a website, social media, and etc…
Q7: What changes to your community are needed?
As Sycamore continues to grow and thrive a new outlook is needed, yet at the same time, understanding what has worked in the past and improve on those ways.
