I think it goes back to Mac's other post. Without Obama, I think Republican voters still out number Democrat voters in this county. For the primary, Republican ballots were almost two to one over Democrat ballots. I do think there was a lot of party switching, Republicans voting for Gallagher and Democrats voting for Adam A. but Republican voters still out numbered Democrats.
Foster won in the past because he ran against Oberweis and I know some Republicans voted for Foster because they saw him as a moderate. If Hultgren comes across as too far right, Foster will probably win again.

I think you are right, Ivan. I am waiting patiently for Ms Chami to announce her plans for the establishment of grand juries for the purpose of investigating possible felonies in the activities of some local municipalities. But, I am not holding my breath.

This is very interesting Mac. Adding vote totals together here I'm finding that Campbell with 4,658 votes actually beat the Democrat candidates who when adding all three of their votes together only comes to 4,468. What do you think caused this? Do you think it was Chami actually beating Farrell or was it more like Farrell lost to Campbell since Campbell is the only candidate to publicly voice his concern about Wogengate and how the City of DeKalb is handling it?

Kay, I think what we have here in this county is a situation where keeping the dirt swept under the rug is more important than mere political party affiliation. A normal progression seems to be from states attorney, to judge, especially if there is some time spent at a politically influential law firm. Everything is nice and cozy just so long as nobody in power ever lifts the carpet to expose that mountain of dirt and corruption. Justice in this locale, is not a blind lady carrying a law book or a sword and a scale, but rather the 3 monkeys, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil. This is why I am intrigued by Mr. Campbell's statement about looking into Wogengate. He is potentially going to peer under the rug, and I expect that our entire buypartisan establishment is going to gang up on him by November.
