When you think of fall apples often come to mind. This Saturday, October 14 make those thoughts part of a fun family activity. The Sycamore History Museum is hosting their annual fall festival!
Starting at 1:00 visitors will have the chance to step back into the past and make apple cider. Bill Mitchell will show and invite visitors to make apple cider. They will clean the apples, grind and press the apples – using an old apple press. “This is a great family activity, and then you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor with the freshest apple cider around!” explained Executive Director, Michelle Donahoe.
Bill Mitchell will lead the apple cider activity as part of the Sycamore History Museum’s Fall Festival on October 14.
This is a free event for families, donations are welcome. A special thank you to Jonamac Apple Orchard for supplying the apples. For more information call 815-895-5762 or visit sycamorehistory.org. The Sycamore History Museum is located at 1730 N. Main Street. While the event is free, regular admission fees to the museum apply (Free for children and members, $5 for adults).
