A candidates forum is scheduled for 7pm Tuesday at Swen Parson Hall, Riley Courtroom, Room 170, at the Northern Illinois University College of Law. The forum will include all judicial, congressional and states attorney candidates running in the November 2nd election.
Participating judicial candidates include justices Ann Jorgensen and Mary Schostok, and judges Kevin Busch, Tom Doherty and Jordan Gallagher. Congressional candidates Bill Foster and Randy Hultgren, and state’s attorney candidates Sarah Gallagher Chami and Clay Campbell have also been invited.
Each candidate will present a three-minute opening statement to begin the program. After all have spoken, questions will be asked of those candidates in contested races. Questions will be taken from the audience and representatives of the both the Women’s Bar Association of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit and the Kane County Bar Association. At the conclusion of the questions, each candidate in a contested race will then be allowed a closing statement. The entire program will last about 1 ½ hours. Swen Parson Hall is located on the east side of Normal Road, across the street from Founders Library. The forum is hosted by the Women’s Bar Association of the 16th Judicial Circuit and the Kane County Bar Association.
