Three days, two nights and 23 bands. This is the weekend of the Camp Kind Festival in Waterman, Il.. From their website: Camp Kind (Aug. 10-12, 2012) is a music and arts festival centered around community, peace, wellness, humanity, kindness and love. “We believe in enriching lives by providing an intimate festival experience that is high in quality as well as accessible and affordable.”
The home of Camp Kind is also known as the ‘The Beat Pharm’ and is the home of Daniel Lynn, bassest of the band, Machine Gun Moses. For one weekend every year, they give up their home and the surrounding farm property in Waterman, IL and turn it into a festival ground. Artists from the all over the Midwest come to provide entertainment and share their crafts. True to their name, they try their best to embody a spirit of charity and positivity. Camp Kind’s main goal is to raise support for the annual charity. This year, they are helping Feed’Em Soup. Camp Kind is asking that every attendee bring canned goods and/or clothing to help those in need. Of course monetary donations are helpful as well.
The price at the door will be $25, space permitting or $20 and 5+ canned goods per person. Camp Kind is located at 10720 Duffy Rd. in Waterman, IL 60556.
