According to national business reports, Frontier Communications is considering to file for bankruptcy within the next two months. According to customer satisfaction reports, Frontier service and failing networks have been an ongoing problem.
Additional details of the report confirm, Frontier Communications had $16.3 billion in long-term debt as of September 30, 2019. The goal of the Frontier CEO Bernie Han is to negotiate a March 15 deadline of a 365 million dollar debt payment. This agreement, if approved, more than likely will require Chapter 11 bankruptcy. If all agreements and changes work, the company will continue to provide service of telephone and internet broadcast without interruption. The Board of Directors feels that the company will continue in some form.
Frontier offers residential and business services in DeKalb County as well as 29 states including Illinois. The company offers fiber and copper networks for internet broadband, TV, and phone services. Frontier reported revenue of $2 billion and a net loss of $345 million in the last quarter of 2019.
Other concerns for Frontier is the small and medium-size internet and phone service companies that have made outstanding growth in DeKalb County and Northern Illinois over the past couple of years. These include Syndeo Networks, DNA, and Metrolink.
DCO contacted the local Frontier office about the report of the bankruptcy plan and continued service but did not get a return call.
