The Genoa Community Women’s Club recently presented the staff at Northwestern Medicine Hospice – DeKalb with a check for $2,400 to support quality end-of-life care and bereavement services. The money was raised during the annual “Bunco for Breast Cancer” event.
The Genoa Community Women’s Club was founded in 1947 and has 32 members. Over the course of eight years, more than $20,000 has been gifted to KishHealth Foundation, part of Northwestern Medicine, to help those in the local community who need assistance and support.
The goal of Northwestern Medicine Hospice DeKalb is to enable patients to continue an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that their last days may be spent with dignity and quality, surrounded by their loved ones.
The next Bunco for Breast Cancer is scheduled on April 14, 2018.
