Bowl For Kids’ Sake is an annual fundraiser for Family Service Agency’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of DeKalb County that is fun for families, businesses and volunteers to get involved in their community. It’s because of the Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraiser, and other consistent contributors, that they are able to offer a quality program at no cost to the parent, children or volunteers who are involved in the program. Bowl For Kids’ Sake raises 65-70% of their annual budget. A successful Bowl For Kids’ Sake is vital in supporting the continuation of these services and in enabling the program to serve more children and find matches for them more quickly.
This year’s event will take place at Mardi Gras Lanes in DeKalb this Friday, March 6, Saturday, March 7, and Sunday, March 8, 2015, as well as at Idle Hour Lanes in Sandwich on Sunday, March 15, 2015.
It’s not about bowling – it’s about doing something fun that benefits kids. Bowl For Kids’ Sake is the most important fundraising event of the year for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Funds raised provide guidance and support to children ages 5-18, who need the time and one-one-one attention of a positive role model. Children are from different socio-economic backgrounds and single or two parent homes.
All volunteers in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program are carefully screened by professional case managers and according to state law. You can participate as a sponsor, as a bowler or both! If you are a sponsor, you get the reward of knowing that your support is helping put Big Brothers and Big Sisters in children’s lives. If you’re a bowler, you get to enjoy a fun outing with friends as well as the satisfaction of knowing you’re making a big difference to kids in your community.
Who gets involved with Bowl For Kids’ Sake? People of all ages and from all walks of life – friends, neighbors, colleagues, business associates – people who, like you, want to make a contribution to the Family Service Agency’s Big Brothers Big Sisters programs and the children they serve.
