The Beth Fowler School of Dance of Genoa and St. Charles promises its audience a trip down memory lane with its third production of the season Dancing Thru the Decades at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 North Second Street, DeKalb, IL. Show times are 7:00 p.m. this Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7, and 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8.
A high energy mix of pop hits and dance music will lead a nostalgic journey thru the decades beginning with the early rock ‘n roll of the 50’s; then uptempo psychedelic tunes of the 60’s; classic rock and disco of the 70’s and pop hits of the big hair 80’s.
The second half of the show will feature the pulsating rock of the 90’s and urban hip hop and current hits of the new millennium.
Included will be acclaimed award winning pieces performances by the Beth Fowler School of Dance Performing Group. Award winning dances are “Slow Me Down” (2000’s), “Girls Night (2000’s), and “The Perfect Two” (2000’s) choreographed by faculty member Brooke Fowler; “In the Closet” (1980’s) choreographed by faculty member Joey Hernandez; “Just One Night All We Got” (2010’s) and “Toxic” (2000’s) choreographed by faculty member Hannah Smith.
Other entertaining pieces will be performed by dance school groups and the Dance Company. Costumes will represent fashions popular in each decade.
