BaconPalooza is one of the most searched terms on this website over the past few days. Everyone seems to love bacon! This Saturday, July 26th, 2014, as part of Kishwaukee Fest, downtown DeKalb will celebrate it’s own BaconPalooza Swine and Wine Festival. There will be wine tasting, vendors, a Corvette Show and craft show all in the Van Buer Plaza at the corner of Locust and N. 2nd St. from noon to 4pm. Participating stores all over downtown will also each have their own Bacon Specials going on.
There will be bacon, food, drinks, merchandise and lots to see. Skate Street DeKalb will also be open on Locust St., between 2nd and 3rd Streets between 10am – 4pm Saturday. Come out and watch the skateboarders, visit the different vendors and enjoy some amazing bacon products.
O’Leary’s Restaurant and Pub will be having their 3rd Annual Pig Roast on the patio Saturday. The Pig-Out begins at 4pm. O’Leary’s salutes our active military on leave and wants to show gratitude for veterans – both will enjoy complimentary pig roast dinner on O’Leary’s Saturday. The rest of us will pay $8 or $11 for all the pig you can eat. O’Leary’s will also be hosting the local favorite band, Menagerie, beginning at 8pm.
