Is your home or business located in an historic district? Have you considered restoration of your historic building but were concerned about the costs involved? The City of DeKalb will be hosting a presentation by a State Historic Preservation Representative, to discuss Historic Preservation Tax Incentives that will be free and open to the public.
Owners of historic homes and buildings may be eligible for government assistance with preservation costs through tax incentive programs administered by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. These programs include a freeze on property tax assessments for owner-occupied historic residences and state income tax credits for rehabilitation of historic income-producing properties.
This coming Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 6:30 P.M. at the DeKalb Public Library, the City of DeKalb Landmark Commission is pleased to host Darius Bryjka from the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency who will speak about how eligible properties may take advantage of tax incentive programs to help defray the cost of investing in historic building restoration.
A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
