The Egyptian Theatre is proud to present the AFI Top 10 Film Series, featuring these 10 great films on the big screen: Wizard of Oz, Vertigo, Schindler’s List, Lawrence of Arabia, Gone With The Wind, Singin’ in the Rain, Raging Bull, Casablanca, The Godfather, and Citizen Kane. All the films will feature an introduction or panel discussion after the film from local film experts on film, theatre, dance, art, history and literature.
This Saturday, February 02, 2013 at 2pm and 6:30 pm, they will be showing the film, E.T. E.T. is a 1982 American science fiction film co-produced and directed by Steven Spielberg. It tells the story of Elliott, a lonely boy who befriends an extraterrestrial, dubbed “E.T.”, who is stranded on Earth. Elliott and his siblings help the extraterrestrial return home while attempting to keep it hidden from their mother and the government.
The film series is sponsored by: Kish Health Systems, NIU College of Liberal Arts & Sciences External Programming, NIU Department of English, NIU Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and the NIU University Honors Program. The price of the films are $7 per adult, $5 for seniors and students. Schindler’s List is free with no tickets required under special licensing agreement.
