There are some important dates coming up for the March 20, 2012 Primary Election. Tomorrow, February 9th, is the first day registered voters may apply for an absentee ballot, (voting by mail or in person). Absentee Voting allows you, the voter, the opportunity to vote from home. In order for the ballot to be counted on Election Day, the ballot must be returned to the County Clerk’s office by Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Early Voting for the Primary Election also begins on February 9 and runs through March 19, 2012. This year there are five locations for DeKalb County voters to go to to vote early. Click here to find the locations available for early voting.
The last day for regular Voter Registration is coming up on February 21st. Grace Period Registration runs from February 22 – March 13. Grace-period registration and voting is the only way to register or change your address or name after the regular registration period ends. It is also the only way to vote if you are not registered or if your voter registration is not up to date.
In the DeKalb County Clerk’s effort to put more information online they have now also added a ‘Voters Information Console‘ . Registered voters can check out your ballot, directions to the polls, and confirm your registration at the link above.
