Digital delight of performances and commentary planned for annual fundraiser.
Usually, Sycamore residents gather in mid-February to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Blumen Gardens with fabulous food, drinks and music at a fundraising gala benefiting Sycamore music students.
The Sycamore Music Boosters, hosts of the evening, hope that in-person evening returns in 2022.
But this year, “A Note to Remember,” our 13th annual gala fundraiser, will be virtual. The event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at http://www.anotetoremember.live. It will last about two hours and will also be streamed on online at SpartanTV.org, the SpartanTV YouTube page, and the Music Boosters Facebook page.
The theme of this year’s A Note to Remember is “The Beat Goes On: Music Unites Us During COVID.”
The online event will feature performances from Sycamore students, faculty, alumni and Hall of Fame members. Testimonials, interviews and commentary from those who have benefited from Sycamore music programs will also be part of the online evening.
“A Note to Remember is a great event that does so much to help our deserving music students,” said Debbie Baugus, Sycamore Music Boosters treasurer and event chair. “When it became clear we wouldn’t be able to gather in person, our board and our friends at Sycamore Community School District 427 worked to create a digital event that will showcase our program and raise funds.”
Instead of admission tickets, silent auction and raffles, supporters can help music programs with financial donations. Donations can be done securely and electronically with a couple mouse clicks.
Area businesses can still get great publicity via redesigned sponsorship opportunities. Sponsorship opportunity forms have been mailed to previous supporters and also posted to the Boosters website and social media platforms.
New for 2021! Family and friends can celebrate the accomplishments of students with shoutouts that will appear on-screen during the event. Shoutouts (100-character limit) are just $5 each. Email Note2Remember@gmail.com for more information.
