Nearly three dozen fabulous music performances from internationally and nationally acclaimed musicians, in addition to the budding talents of Sycamore students, will blow up the internet Saturday evening.
The Sycamore Music Boosters annual gala fundraiser, “A Note to Remember,” begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at anotetoremember.live. It will last about two hours and will also be streamed on online at SpartanTV.org, the SpartanTV YouTube page, and the Music Boosters Facebook page.
The event is sponsored by Meijer, Brad Manning Ford, Sycamore Dentistree, Austin’s Violin Shop, Ideal Industries, Inc., Sycamore Antiques, Pizza Villa, Archer Alignment, Inc., Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists, Floor to Ceiling, and Hillside Restaurant. The theme this year is “The Beat Goes On: Music Unites Us During COVID.”
The online program will feature performances from Sycamore students, faculty, alumni and Hall of Fame members. Testimonials, interviews and commentary from those who have benefited from Sycamore music programs will also be part of the online evening.
The program also features a variety of styles. From Bach to (Irving) Berlin, Stevie Nicks to Franz Schubert, and Nat King Cole to Ennio Morricone, there’s something for everyone.

“We’re just amazed by the number of performers who so generously volunteered their time and talent,” said Scott Mertens, Sycamore music department chair. “We have a great musical evening planned, and thanks to the wizardry of the school district’s communication staff and the dedication of our event committee, you’ll be able to enjoy the whole show from the comfort of your home.”
A Note to Remember, now in its 13th year, normally is an in-person gala with food, beverages, desserts, silent auction, raffles and musical performances. Due to health and safety concerns, the Sycamore Music Boosters board voted to move the event online this year.
