Chill Out At Annual Winter Festival (Saturday Feb 4th)
Join the DeKalb Park District for family-oriented winter activities on Saturday, February 4, from Noon – 3 pm at Hopkins Park for our 7th annual Polarpalooza! This FREE outdoor, festival features:
- Hot Chocolate & S’mores Roasting
- Sled Dog Demonstrations
- Winter Hayrides
- Bubble Mania
- Snowman Building Contest *
- Ice Skating*
- Sports Demonstrations
- Sledding*
- And More!
*Some activities are weather-dependent! A limited supply of ice skates will be available to rent for free.
Make Magical Memories (Saturday Feb 18th)
Theme: Once Upon a Fairy Tale
The Daddy-Daughter and Heroes Dance gives girls a special night out on Saturday, February 18, including personalized photographs, dancing, light refreshments, desserts, contests, and games. This event celebrates the bond between a little girl and her father or role model. Come dressed to impress or in your favorite princess attire. Space is limited and the event is likely to sell out. Get your tickets early!
5:30 – 7:30 pm, Hopkins Terrace Room
$37 R/ $46 NR per couple (register under child’s name)
$18 R/ $23 NR per additional child or hero
Ice, Ice, Baby
Residents and non-residents are invited to enjoy outdoor fun at Hopkins Park this winter with the Ice Rink and Sled Hill.
Sled Hill: Residents and non-residents are free to use the Sled Hill at their own risk during regular park hours, daily, 30 minutes before sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset. Park at the Hopkins Park Shelter. See the complete list of Sled Hill Rules in the link below.
Ice Rink: The Ice Rink is NOW OPEN for the skating season, and will remain open while the weather permits. The Ice Rink is open daily, 30 minutes before sunrise until 9 pm when the lights are shut off. Residents and non-residents are free to skate at their own risk during the hours of operations.
