“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” tells the old tale of Ichabod Crane who becomes Sleepy Hollow’s new schoolmaster. Ichabod Crane takes an interest in Katrina Van Tassel, the town belle, and puts his sights on marrying her for a variety of reasons, much to the chagrin of Brom Bones, Crane’s rival. Matters come to a head during the Van Tassel’s Halloween party, after which the superstitious Ichabod is frightened on his lonely ride home by a ghost like apparition, the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow. The next morning Ichabod is nowhere to be found, leaving behind only a song in the wind, and thus a new legend is born.
