Fire crews around DeKalb battled a field fire, but not before flames spread over 100 acres of land .
The field fire, which crews say spread quickly, broke out on farm property on Twombly Road. Twelve departments from around the region helped contain the fire.
Heavy equipment operators from neighboring farms disked the land around the fire in an effort to contain it.
Investigators blame an unattended open burn during windy conditions for causing the fire. No one was hurt, and no buildings were damaged.
